An Exclusive Interview with Elle from Elle Reflexology in Burntwood, Staffordshire.
Introduction
Burntwood Business is excited to sit down with Elle, a Level 5 Clinical Reflexologist, to discuss the ins and outs of reflexology, how it benefits overall well-being, and what sets her practice apart.
Burntwood Business: Elle, thank you for taking the time to chat with us today. Let’s dive right in. How did you become interested in reflexology, and what inspired you to start your practice in Burntwood?
Elle: Thank you for having me, Burntwood Business! I have always been interested in natural healing through alternative therapies and how they can work alongside conventional medicine. I first received reflexology whilst pregnant with my youngest son and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Now my children are older, this has enabled me to pursue my ambition of becoming a fully qualified Clinical Reflexologist.
Burntwood Business: That’s wonderful to hear. Can you explain what reflexology is and how it can benefit someone’s overall wellbeing?
Elle: I’d love to. Clinical reflexology is a non-invasive, complementary therapy that works alongside conventional healthcare to help the body to re-balance and provide an overall sense of well-being. It works on the theory that the body’s organs and systems correspond to different points or reflexes on the feet, hands, and ears. Stimulating these reflexes can aid relaxation, reduce stress, improve circulation, and bring relief to a wide range of conditions.
Burntwood Business: It’s quiet clear your level of expertise is quite high. Could you tell us about the specific techniques or approaches you use in your reflexology sessions?
Elle: I am qualified to a level 5 diploma in practitioner reflexology, the highest industry level. This has allowed me to become a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR). Being qualified to this level has enabled me to specialise in:
- Hand reflexology
- Auricular (ear) reflexology
- Enhancing fertility and maternity reflexology
- Adapting reflexology for cancer and palliative care
- Meridian reflexology
- Stress and anxiety reflexology
- Baby massage and reflexology
As well as having a treatment centre in Burntwood, I also offer a fully mobile, in-home service.
Burntwood Business: That’s quite an impressive array of services! Do you have any testimonials or success stories you’d like to share?
Elle: Yes, one client, Lisa from Rugeley, had terrible knee pain for years, and now it’s erased so much she can get back to jogging, which she used to find difficult. She has found the treatment has made this so much better.
Another 50+ menopausal woman, Sam, has said my services have helped so much, Sam Said “she [elle] just knew by my symptoms what I needed. I had been suffering with hormonal headaches and reflexology really worked. I was very sceptical about the process, but it really worked. Elle has a very calming influence and is knowledgeable about conditions and symptoms.” I think that is the kind of feedback I love.
Burntwood Business: Those testimonials are powerful! Now, what are some misconceptions or myths you’d like to dispel about reflexology?
Elle: Myth: Reflexology is a modern-day wellness fad. Fact: Reflexology is an ancient form of alternative medicine that dates back thousands of years.
Misconception: Reflexology is just a foot massage. Fact: Reflexology uses a targeted, pressure-point massage technique to restore the flow of energy throughout the body, bringing it to a harmonic state.
Myth: Reflexology tickles. Fact: Reflexology should not tickle due to the firm pressure used.
Burntwood Business: Great information! For those new to your services, how do you create a welcoming environment for your clients?
Elle: I have just recently opened my new treatment centre in Burntwood. I’m really excited to provide this high-quality treatment space to my clients where they can unwind, relax and enjoy the benefits of my treatments. For mobile appointments, I bring all my equipment with me and ensure that my clients are warm and comfortable in a LaFuma reflexology chair.
Burntwood Business: What health conditions or issues can reflexology be particularly effective for?
