What the badges mean
Listings carry small coloured badges to help you spot the difference between a paying advertiser, an editor pick, a popular listing right now, and a vetted local. Here is what each one means and how a business earns it.
- Sponsored
- A paid placement. Sponsored businesses appear in the Advertised carousel on the home page and inside category and search results. Sponsorship helps fund the directory; it does not change the order of organic listings.
- Recommended
- An editor pick from inside the WS7 area, chosen because the team has used the business themselves or trusts the people running it. Recommended listings appear in the "Recommended in WS7" grid on the home page.
- Trending
- Either a manual editor pick or a listing or event that has had a noticeable bump in views over the last seven days. The "Trending now" slot at the top of the home page rotates between trending listings and trending events every ten seconds.
- Trusted Neighbour
- A vetted local that the team is willing to vouch for. We have either spoken to the owner directly, used the business ourselves, or both. Trusted Neighbours appear in their own carousel on the home page and earn the badge across the rest of the site.
