Burntwood Business sat down with Claire Mee, Events Coordinator at Burntwood Bright Events, to talk about the return of PICHTFEST, the family-friendly tribute music festival bringing big festival energy to Hammerwich Cricket Club. After a memorable debut year, the event is back for 2026, and Claire says this year is set to be even bigger.

BB: For anyone who has not been before, how would you describe PICHTFEST?

Claire:
PICHTFEST is a family-friendly tribute music festival bringing incredible live music, festival vibes, food, drinks, entertainment and unforgettable memories right to the heart of the community.

It is a proper festival day out, but without having to travel miles away. It is about music, families, friends, fun and creating something really special locally.

BB: What inspired you to launch PICHTFEST in the first place?

Claire:
Hammerwich Cricket Club had always dreamed of hosting a proper music festival for the local community, so we decided to make it happen.

We wanted to create something that would bring people together and give everyone that big festival experience close to home. Burntwood and the surrounding areas deserve events like this, and PICHTFEST gives people the chance to enjoy live music, entertainment and a brilliant atmosphere without leaving their hometown.

BB: Last year was the debut event. What were your standout moments from the first PICHTFEST?

Claire:
Without a doubt, the moment Oasis’d closed the show.

The rain had just started coming down, but nobody cared. Everyone had their arms in the air, singing every word together. It was one of those magical festival moments you never forget.

That was the moment we knew PICHTFEST had become something really special.

BB: The event is returning to Hammerwich Cricket Club for a second year. What makes that venue such a good home for the festival?

Claire:
Hammerwich Cricket Club is the perfect setting for PICHTFEST.

It is local, spacious, easy to get to and has fantastic facilities. There is a brilliant bar, great amenities and plenty of room for families and festival-goers to relax and enjoy the day.

It gives us the perfect base to grow the event bigger each year while keeping that local community feel.

BB: The 2026 event is described as being even bigger. What can people expect this time around?

Claire:
Last year, people came along not quite knowing what to expect. This year, they know PICHTFEST delivers.

For 2026, we are turning everything up a level. Bigger crowds, bigger atmosphere, more entertainment, more glitter and even more incredible live music.

If you loved last year, this year is going to blow you away.

BB: What kind of live music and entertainment are you hoping to bring to the event?

Claire:
We cannot give too much away just yet, but trust us, the line-up announcements are worth waiting for.

People can expect massive singalong moments, crowd favourites and artists that will have the whole festival dancing from start to finish.

Everyone should keep their eyes peeled for the artist announcements soon.

BB: PICHTFEST is promoted as a family music festival. What activities or attractions will there be for children and families?

Claire:
PICHTFEST is all about families enjoying a great day together.

Alongside the live music, there will be food vendors, stalls, rides, entertainment and plenty to keep both children and adults entertained throughout the day.

We want it to feel welcoming for all ages, whether people are coming with little ones, teenagers, friends or the whole family.

BB: Food, drinks and fairground rides are all part of the day. Can you tell us more about what visitors can look forward to?

Claire:
We want people to experience that real festival feeling.

There will be great street food, cold drinks, music everywhere, fairground fun and an amazing atmosphere, all without having to leave your hometown.

It is that combination of live music, food, drinks, rides and community that makes the day feel so special.

BB: What sort of atmosphere are you hoping to create across the day?

Claire:
Fun, welcoming and full of energy.

We want PICHTFEST to feel like one huge celebration where everyone can relax, sing along, dance and make memories together.

It is about family-friendly festival vibes from start to finish.

BB: Who is the event aimed at, local families, music fans, the wider Burntwood community, or all of the above?

Claire:
Absolutely everyone.

Whether you are coming for the music, the atmosphere, the family day out or just to enjoy something different locally, there will be something for everyone at PICHTFEST.

BB: What makes PICHTFEST different from other local events and festivals?

Claire:
PICHTFEST brings a true large-scale festival atmosphere to Burntwood.

There are big tribute acts, incredible production, family entertainment and a real community feel all in one place. It is unlike anything else the area has seen before.

We believe it is the biggest tribute music festival Burntwood has seen.

BB: How important is it to you that the event supports and brings together the local community?

Claire:
It is hugely important.

PICHTFEST was built for the community, and seeing local families, businesses and friends all coming together is what makes the event so special to us.

Our top priority is making sure this is a successful community event that people are proud to support.

BB: Are there opportunities for local businesses, sponsors, food vendors or performers to get involved?

Claire:
Definitely.

We are always looking to work with local businesses, traders, sponsors and performers who want to be part of something exciting and growing.

BB: The event includes VIP Club Pavilion tickets. What does the VIP experience include?

Claire:
VIP is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy PICHTFEST in extra comfort and style.

VIP tickets are limited and are always expected to be popular, so we would definitely recommend booking early.

BB: What should people bring with them on the day to get the best out of the festival?

Claire:

Claire:

The artist announcements and seeing the crowd reactions.

There is nothing better than watching thousands of people enjoying themselves together and creating those unforgettable festival moments.

BB: Looking beyond 2026, what is your long-term vision for PICHTFEST?

Claire:
To keep growing bigger and better every single year while keeping the community spirit that made people fall in love with PICHTFEST in the first place.
